Salon or Seminar is a series of cultural debates at art venues in London during 2007.

Thursday 17th May
A Salon or Seminar debate, discussing the relationships between art and politics
- Should art be socially relevant, and if so,
  how should this be assessed?
- Who should make decisions about artistic policy?
- How can art activate interest in politics and
  the public sphere?

Panel: Richard DeDomenici (artist in residence at Pump House Gallery), Laura Godfrey-Isaacs (curator of Home Live Art), Samuel Jones (culture and creativity at Demos), Peter Lewis (artist, curator, writer), Chaired and organised by Cecilia Wee (Rational Rec, Resonance FM).

This Salon or Seminar debate is part of Richard DeDomenici's residency 'Normalisation of Deviance' and the 'Art of Protest' event series at the Pump House Gallery, which runs until May 28th 2007:
